System Requirements

Below are the requirements for installing and using the software in your office on your office network. If you wish to access the database remotely over an internet connection, see Remote Access Requirements.

 

Retriever Enterprise is made up of two separate programs. These are the "Server", and the "Workstation". The server is installed only once and runs all the time. The workstations are installed on any computer that you wish to use the program on.

 

Server Requirements

  • Windows XP Professional or above.
  • Intel i7 processor or equivalent.
  • 16 GB of RAM.
  • 2 GB hard drive space, or greater depending on how much data you enter into the program.
  • For best performance the database files should be located directly on a local hard drive and not on a network drive or NAS drive.
  • UPS, un-interruptible poser supply to prevent issues from power outages.
  • 100 mbps or faster Ethernet network (TCP/IP network protocol)
  • Firewall - The Retriever Server must be allowed through your firewall on the port that it uses.

Microsoft SQL Server is not used and is not required.

Workstation Requirements

  • Windows XP Professional or above.
  • Intel i5 processor or equivalent.
  • 4 GB minimum of RAM.
  • Ethernet connection or wireless adapter. For wireless access, 802.11g will work provided that the wireless connection is not substandard. 801.1n or faster is preferred though.

QuickBooks Requirements

If you wish to link to QuickBooks to transfer contact, job and time entry data, you must have a U.S. version of QuickBooks 2007 or above. Desktop versions only. QuickBooks Online is not supported. Also, QuickBooks and Retriever Enterprise must be installed on the same computer.
